With up 400 volts and a load capacity of up to 20 Ah, the battery provides for fast acceleration, hill climbing strength, and a good long range. High technology environmentally friendly transportation.

 

The hybrid drive: fitness through pedalling - a true sports car
The TWIKE combines an electric motor with a pedal drive, in a unique system that converts muscle power directly into motion, while allowing electric power to assist instantly and at any time. This new exo-bionic synergy between person and machine fulfils the desire for freedom and independence, while still allowing movement through space with efficiency and quickness. Time spent powering the TWIKE trains the muscles, boosts the circulation, and sharpens the mind. The pedalling frequency can be adjusted through the gear box in a speed range of 25 to 70 km/hr.

 

The electric motor: Strong and Efficient
The high performance AC motor converts energy efficiently into motion, and the intelligent control system provides for slip-free braking and acceleration even on icy roads. Through the magic of regenerative braking, the motor can also convert motion back into energy, effectively refuelling the battery whenever the vehicle decelerates.

The unrivalled efficiency of about 6-12 kilowatt hour of electricity per hundred miles means an ultra low energy cost. The TWIKE LION Battery
Through the use of this new battery type, the proven TWIKE technology is taken to the next step of innovation. Lithium-ion manganese batteries currently offer the best ratio between energy density and price. The high load capacity, the fast loading capacity, virtually no memory effect, optimum performance in a wide temperature range and easy handling of this battery type take the TWIKE experience to a new dimension. A TWIKE LION Battery pack consists of 392 individual cells. It has a nominal voltage of 353 V and a load capacity of 4 Ah. A range of 150 can be reached with 5 battery packs consisting of a total of 1960 cells providing a total load capacity of 20 Ah. Each TWIKE is equipped with a central battery monitoring system. This monitoring system reports information like load capacity, voltage, battery temperature to the pilot via the display in the cockpit. The lithium-ion batteries can be charged after every trip.
